What is the best way to thank a school for the care and support they give?

My son is in y1. He has SEN (currently undiagnosed, but close to diagnosis). He started at the school in his pre-school year, and has always been challenging for the staff. Including a memorable occasion of kicking the headteacher during an outburst whilst in preschool.
However, the school have been wonderful. In terms of recognising the difficulties he has, managing his behaviour without murmur, supporting his education, and in getting me finally listened to after being fobbed off for years.
I honestly can't thank them enough for everything they do for my son. I don't even know the half of it, because they don't make a song and dance over things. They just get on with it.
I feel so lucky that the school have accepted him, and how his teachers have just been so nice and kind when dealing with him.
I want to do or say something that the school would appreciate. I'm not sure what though. I particularly want to recognise his teachers, the sendco, and even the head teacher as he will be instrumental in how the staff behave towards the parents and children.
Any ideas?!

A letter detailing specifically how they have helped your child. Teachers have to keep evidence of their work for their performance review and it's lovely when someone else does it for you Smile

Glad you said that.
I'm a midwife, and I much prefer a letter or card (and an email to my managers!) than anything else. I also have to have feedback for my revalidation too...!

Would it work in one letter with copies to each person? Or individual letters to each person?

Write to the Head, the Governors and the LA or Trust in charge of the school. The more senior the recipients the better- then they can see what a great job their teachers are doing (and maybe thank them!)

As recommended by user, write to the Head, and to the Chair of Governors.

I have always received copies of letters of praise / thanks from parents that the HT has received about me - along with a nice comment from the Head - but I would be too embarrassed to send one on to the Head which I received directly, IYSWIM? So by sending the letter to the Head, you not only thank them, but also ensure that they know about how great the staff are too.
