Harassment from management via email

I am new to this job, loads of experience in other teaching and professional roles. I'm really struggling with the constant bombarding of my inbox with harassing emails from management for various pieces of admin. Example: deadline for something was moved forward a week - fine, whatever. Deadline was then set for this week - today, Friday - end of day, and then the harassment begins. Reminders every day, lists of who hasn't completed it yet sent out to all staff. Today a series of emails with 'outstanding' in the subject line. Fine if I were past the deadline, but I'm not. I can't deal with this level of micro-management. Anything I can do? I sat on my hands all day, then sent something back along the lines of - it's not outstanding, see email thread below detailing deadline.

Am I meant to put up with this? Want to quit already, I hate it.

Welcome to 'modern' teaching...

It's quite common. You aren't alone with the frustration. Why do you think there's a retention crisis?

I wrote some exams for yrs 7 to 9 with all of the department contributing questions.

I was then told asked to put aside 2 hours for a meeting with the deputy principal. I was told all the other heads of departments had
written their exams according to how the DP wanted it it done and how it was a poor reflection on me that my exams were so bad. How badly I obviously managed my department because of the exams.

My crime? I hadn't put lines in the answer space for the kids to write on. They weremathsexams. Who the fuck wants to write on lines when asked to calculate an answer.

I went through hell because of this. Nearly quit my HoD, all because SLT couldn't communicate

As a teacher that would drive me nuts. Can you ignore the messages and stick to your own time frame knowing you are within the deadlines. Its poor management as frustrating your staff is surely one of the signs of doing a bad job.
Or maybe every time could you email back..l have that under control. Nothing else.
No lines on a maths exam paper seems right. In government run exams here there are no lines just plenty of room to do the calculations.

Is this normal then? It's fucking ridiculous to be harassed in this way. I am going to talk about it as harassment when it comes up, as that is what it is. They seem to love burdening teaching staff with the stress coming to them from above. It's like, HELLO, you are being paid a lot more to deal with that stress, keep it to yourselves thanks. I won't be able to stand this and have already decided to take steps, e.g. I 'm only going to check the email once per day & on work days only (I'm part-time in this job but have another job that makes full-time+). Have already decided to quit this job asap, which will be within a year anyway as it's maternity cover.

This would not hhappen at our school. Mainly because we have a very strong Union.
The calendar for reports, meetings and any other deadlines is issued in September and we stick to it. No body would accept a shortened deadline without Union negotiation.
Also, how often are you meant to be checking e mails? We're asked to ensure we check them once a day!

I decided that as part time, I would have an automatic email reply on my days off saying I would reply when back in work. Sounds great, but I haven't had the nerve yet to do it!

I check my email once a day ony work days and never on my days off. I don't get paid enough for that shit.
Colleagues probably complain that I never respond to emails but if I read and responded to everyone I'd never have time to teach!

if email doesn't apply, just delete.
that's the curse of email + time saving admin. a roundmail is easier than keeping lists for reminders.
