Anyone done the EdD with the OU?

I think it's something I'd like to do and wondered if anyone was able to share their experience of it.
In particular I'm interested in finding out:

• how compatible it is with raising a young family.
• whether you were able to access any support in putting together your initial research proposal
• whether you held a teaching role at the same time, or how your relationship with school worked.

Hi. Not with the OU, but with Cardiff part time. 3 'weekends' a year for the first two years, Thursday evening through to Saturday. There are people from all over the UK and abroad so could that be an option?

How long did it take you part-time (as in how many years)?
How much time during your week did you dedicate to it?
How was it funded?
Did you work in an educational setting at the same time? If so, how did that work?
