What questions do you ask when you start in a new school.

So many things I want to know! I'm a Cover Supervisor, so not a teacher but everything is going to be so different from my old school. What are the main things that you want to know?

Where are the loos?!

Get keys sorted.
Get timetables sorted.
How to photocopy stuff.
Where is HR.
Where is your line manager.

Computer network log in and password
Email address and account password
Passwords for all the school accounts for Twinkl, Bug Club etc...
When are the staff meetings and are you expected to attend?
Ask the office if you can have a list of all SEN children, a list of all medical needs/allergies and a list of G&T children.

I'm starting at a new school in September and have asked for-
Staff login details
Staff email address
Fire evaluation procedures
List of who I contact and for what reason e.g. illnesses, snow day
Allergy and illness list
List of inset days and whether I'm supposed to attend
I'm in primary so these might not apply-
Assembly times
Timetable e.g. what time school starts/finishes when lunch is, break times
Any parents who are not allowed to collect.

Behaviour policy - expectations, routines, what happens when it goes wrong, where do children get sent, who can you call to help etc
