Handing in my notice on last day of term

I'm support staff and only have to give 1 months notice, it doesn't stipulate in my contract that it has to be a working month.
I can't face going back in September.
If i hand my notice in on the last day of term with my leaving date set as 31st August would that mean i still get my holiday pay?
I've been there nearly 4 years.

You have to email your notice 1st August to get full holiday pay. Let the head know that's what you are planning to do.

Yes, you can an give whatever notice you want over the 1 month, you just write saying my last day will be 31 Aug.

However, if you are over or underpaid holiday pay that will (should) be adjusted in you final pay anyway. So if you started on 1 Sep and leave in July, you'll be entitled to most of the holiday pay anyway. If you didn't start until April (ie haven't worked a full year) and leave 31 Aug you'll have some holiday pay deducted from your last pay packet
