Can I sign on for summer holidays?

I am currently supply and start a permanent position in September but summer is going to be really tight as I’m going to need to put away June, July, August and September’s rent as I win be paid in new job til end of sept and obvs won’t be paid over summer hols. Have applied for holiday work but they are not interested in a 32 yo when they can pay a 17 yo much less! Can I sign on and look for work and if I get an interview just tell the employer I’m only available until September 1st?

Why not register with some agencies for temp work?

You can give it a go. One thing you need to be aware of is the "term-time worker rules". If you are a "term-time worker" your hours and income may be averaged out over the whole year leaving you ineligible for benefits during the holidays.
To avoid this you might describe yourself as an "unemployed teacher" rather than a supply teacher. Give the ever helpful line :"contract ended" when asked about your last job and stress that you are looking for full time, permenant work.
To show that you meet the "labour market conditions" you will probably have to say that your looking for work other than teaching, at least for the holidays, although you might of course prefer to be a teacher.
