Student panel

Anyone had one of these recently? I have faced three in my time. One was at my own school which was silly . I don't remember the other two very well: stress has forced them out of my memory! I juts recall three times being told what animal I want to be...

Has anyone had one and actually remembers any questions??

This is secondary, by the way.

So what animal are you?

No idea about the student panel, sorry, but I think they’re an abomination. Good luck with your interview!

I have vague memories of being asked how my pupils would describe me and how I make learning fun. They are really not that important and you would have to be cold and completely unfriendly with with the students for it to make any difference. Good luck.

A cat noble because they do what they like , when they likes, stare out of windows a lot and can't hide their disdain.

And they sleep all the time.

I may not give this answer.

This is what I think cansu because at my own school they have a habit of appointing the applicant the students dislike!!

The fun one is a good shout.. It's a wellbeing job so am expecting a question about stress.

Is it teaching as well as pastoral? Impressed that a school is hiring someone for student wellbeing.

What would you advise a Y10 who is already getting majorly stressed out about exams?

Shock Shock Shock I think I’d like to work there!

Remember, it’s not all about croissants Wink

I have that noted.

I wish I'd kept a note of all last week's Teacher Tapp stats because there was something like 60% of schools with no wellbeing policy and nearly everyone said the no 1 thing was workload. Surprise.

Not sure if I should say that at interview! Might just talk about croissants and breakfast briefings!

I wanted to run a wellbeing group at my own school but they asked someone else so it'll serve them right if I resign tomorrow. hahahaha.

Didn't get the job folks. Oh well.

Student panel were lovely but I was rather annoyed they did not ask me what I would be if I were an animal.

They asked me what subject I'd teach if I didn't teach the three I already teach and what's so good about being a teacher! I tried not to be honest...

Oh sorry to hear that, piggy another one to chalk up to ‘good experience’. Your time will come!

Did you mention croissants? Grin

Croissants were not mentioned. But we did get crisps at lunch!
