Can someone explain to me the pros and cons of supply teaching v a fixed teaching role.
Which has more demand? Pay? Hours?
Huge thanks!!

Demand, pay, hours; fixed teaching role has more of all of these.

I’m seriously considering this recently as well. I’ve got a contact number for a recommended local agency, just working up the courage to make an appointment!

To me the pros are-
Obvious reduction in workload/ responsibility and accountability.
End of regular book scrutinies in staff meetings- it’s starting to feel personal between staff now
Continual moderation and scrutiny of everything!!
Not being stuck in a difficult class of 35 and drowning in marking
My life not revolving around sats for a few months of every year!!

Cons-
Obvious pay issues- lack of holiday and sickness pay
Missing being part of a team
Missing cpd opportunities
Missing having a relationship with a class
Not getting enough work

It’s a very tough choice x
