Is 86 the year you were born? I’d been teaching 2 years by then! How do I feel? Old!

I haven’t done any of my marking and it’s staring reproachfully at me... Grin

pottering I too have about 40% of my marking to do and my weeks planning 😂
I should’ve done it last weekend.

I'm also back tomorrow - been quite good and done most work. Will finish off today.

I like my school but I am actually feeling weirdly stressed about going back - think it's the start of the run up to exams that's doing it.

Hopefully, I'll be fine once I get in tomorrow!

I know some schools have just started half term, I commented that half term was over here..

Yep I was born in 86. Sorry if that makes your feel old! I've been teaching nearly 10years too if that makes it worse!!!! ;-)

I have stuff I haven't done (though I plan a couple of weeks ahead so its more marking stuff).. currently pretending it's not back to work tomorrow!

Surprisingly chilled out
I've been marking for the last couple of days (and getting distracted watching the Olympics) but I'm really looking forward to seeing my Y7s. They're going to be so proud of how they've done. So cheesy but true.

Less looking forward to 'y11 - what's happening' and the inevitable requests for data every 5 seconds from eleventy million differenr people.

Back tomorrow. I always get weirdly nervous going back. I only work three days though so the weekend starts 3.30 Wednesday

I like my job but I wish I wasn't going back. Half terms make me wish I was a SAHM!

I have been sick for the whole of half term. Still feel awful and seriously aggrieved!

Dreading it. Our HT has been a prize twat since September and we are all walking on eggshells. Y5+6 staff can do no wrong but the rest of us can do no right, including non teaching staff which I am.
I'm seriously considering leaving. My son is disabled and I would be no worse off financially by not working. I used to love work now I hate going.
Sorry to put a downer on everyone.

Have also been ill over half term so haven't even started marking yet.
I want to cry looking at it all.
Hoping dc will sit in front of a film this aft so I can get started and won't be up until midnight doing it.

I'm with Garmadon, sick all week, just beginning to feel better and back to it tomorrow 😢 No work done either. Pretty miserable. Roll on Easter!

I don’t work in the holidays though, so has just been my own time I’ve wasted. Would love to be off sick it will be hard going in tomorrow (hard enough when you feel well!)

Urgh. Wide awake and clock watching. I have to get up in 5 hours 17 minutes and know sleep will be elusive tonight.
I've got the dreaded back to work blues. I love my job and I love the kids but I hate the unnecessary paperwork and data that the head loves so much (had an email today asking for even more pointless and time consuming crap). I also have the laziest TA ever who has no initiative and is impossible to motivate. She has a different ailment every single sodding day and every time I ask her to do something she huffs and puffs then says she's 'nipping to the loo' first (she's clearly fucking constipated the amount of time it takes her to return!).
Every week I decide I'm going to chill out and not let her get to me, but by 9.15am I'm seething inside! I can't even complain to the head because there are family links between them and the head thinks she's 'a wonderful young lady'.

Well, I'm up and getting ready.

Slept really badly - not helped by DH's snoring Angry

Mostly though, I was clock watching and thinking about what I need to do Sad

Like a lot of us, I love my job but it is so stressful at times!

Hopefully, I will be back into the swing by break today Grin

Hope everyone's first day back went ok?

Good first day back thanks. But I love my job. I still never sleep the night before, even after all these years.

I have ridiculous thoughts, such as 'I've forgotten how to teach...' 'I don't think I can do this anymore....' 'Someone will tell me I'm doing it wrong....'

Grin Goodness knows why - but it's been happening for 25 years or more now! In the daylight I do remember that I can teach.

Ah the old "I've forgotten how to teach". How I feel after every single holiday, without fail!
