I've got to the stage in the holidays where I really really need to sit down and get on with some planning.

I promised myself I'd do it in the first couple of days holiday, but I didn't. I do have a skeleton plan for the term done, with the main coverage areas for English and Maths, but it's a new theme and I need to actually do the nitty gritty of what I'm actually going to teach. And I've got some backdated assessment stuff I need to do, and some planning for my lead area in the school.

I need to do it, or at least make a start. I'm going to have a shower then open the laptop and crack on. Who's with me?

Yep, I am stressing that I need to get work done, yet struggling to actually make myself sit down and do it!

I'm.still off next week as didn't finish until 22nd but I also need to do some to avoid the last minute panic. However, I spent this morning taking DS out swimming and to the cafe after for lunch which was lovely but has not helped my work like!

I sometimes find setting a timer for an hour and telling myself I will focus for that your and then take a break helps me and I get quite a bit done in that time.

Good luck!

Me too! I'm starting a long term supply placement next week and whilst I've done bits I'm nowhere near finished with my planning after having people staying all Christmas and having been poorly since they left. Tonight! 💪💪🤞😂

I've cleaned out all my bedroom drawers today! Much more fun!

We're on our summer holidays here, so don't go back until the end of January. I do a couple of hours work in the morning when I get up, then stop for the day.

I have done a little bit.
I just can’t get motivated.

We broke up early and I went in for two days at the beginning of the holidays. We’ve got inset on the 2nd Sad so am not doing anything for the last couple of days-I’ve resigned myself to the fact that those two days will be horrid and that I’ll just have to cope with it Grin I have however submitted all my planning as we had to do it before the end of term, so that’s a relief. I have a whole load of head of faculty stuff to sort out though, so have been mulling it all over before I deal with it all on Tuesday.

Well... I've done some planning. Got bogged down in finding/re-writing a talk for writing text, and doing the story map, but that's finished now, and lots of other learning will come out of that. I am working now, so if I keep my head down, and keep going, I should get more done. And I need to get off Mumsnet!

DH just did the food shop, and the washing is all done. I now just need to stop looking an the enooooormous ironing pile and thinking that I could get on with that while watching Netflix. Much more inviting.

I've got INSET on the 3rd, then children in, so if I don't want to be planning all New Years Day I need to crack on. Well done those who have managed some, and commiserations to those as similarly conflicted as me.....

I'm going to 'wing it' for the couple of days this week we're in - and then do some planning next weekend. Maybe...

I tried to do some yesterday but got nowhereHmm

I am now sat in the hairdressers now so can't do anything - but I have made a to do list on my phone so I think that's progress!

Going to make a concerted effort to do some this afternoon.

Trouble is, my DS who is 4 is also off until the 8th and so I have done loads with him and still want to do things with him so I have no motivation to do any work.
