I received the letter today from TPS informing me that my application for ill-health retirement has been successful. I am therefore officially retired.
It feels weird. I'm 42 and retired. I don't regret leaving teaching at all - it has become totally unmanageable with my disability. I'm really proud that I managed 13.5 years as a teacher and 7 years teaching with a disability.
The first thing I'm going to do is book a holiday in term time.
