Hi
Is anyone using a particularly good phonics programme?
Pupils who have issues retaining core sounds/decoding are given extra support and we've been using Phonics Code Cracker since the beginning of time. It's hideously outdated and I'm keen to see if anyone is using anything with success.
Printed resource books are a must (so kids can work at their own pace). The Code Cracker system takes a core sound/rule and provides a word list. Pupils then work on this until they are ready for the time test. If they manage to accomplish the list three times in 20 seconds, they move onto the next sound. It's a group effort and the kids like the challenge of it.
Thanks!
