My son is in a ks2 class of 37 and beginning to struggle. Is it now quite acceptable to have classes this big?

Sadly yes

If he's struggling then the teacher is too

Sadly the Middles usually struggle the most

Can you move him?

Oh my goodness. I’m a teacher and I think this is awful! I once had 33 and that was bad enough. I assume the teacher has a TA?

Yes, I'm a teacher too .. ks1 and small class. I know they are a bit older but still need attention which in a class size that big, must be hard. Plus.. can you imagine the marking. I think they have TA but not full time. Wondered if I was just being a bit precious so thanks for answers.

The thing is it will also depend on the needs of the class

The TA will be there for those children,

DD was in a class where at least 7 kids had additional needs and one needed one2one Amy lapse of attention and he'd kick off

She moved schools
