First time poster so be gentle with me! As the title says, i have recently accepted a settlement agreement for reasons i am obviously unable to share on here. My question is this, once the agreement has been sent to union legal team, how long does the process take as i am panicking about paying mortgage etc at the end if the month...

Should be within 21 days I think. It will say on the settlement agreement.
In my case they ‘forgot’ to pay it and someone had to go and have a word with them- the union were worse than useless!!
Chase, chase, chase- I bet they won’t want to pay a BACs fee and will try to do it as part of a normal payroll run!

Employers have said they'll BACS it same day but the union cant seem to reassure me their bit'll be done by the end of the month! Surely they should manage that? They'll have had it 4 weeks and i have no plan b!!

I officially left on Aug 31st and got my settlement on October 15th (2 years ago).

Still got most of it in savings! Took a month of then went on supply for a bit which led to a job in a much nicer school. Good luck!

Thanks Leccy, good to know there's life after this, it all feels very raw and bleak

I felt exactly the same. I now realise I had a version of PTSD after working in that toxic environment for so long without being able to see the wood for the trees. It was awful and it made me unwell.
Turns out I am actually quite a good teacher though - being constantly told how rubbish and worthless I was led me to doubt that.
I'm sure you are too.

The best part about it all? As soon as I received my settlement, I was offered my old job back. I said thanks but no thanks.
