I expressed an interest in eyfs at my job interview and have now been offered f1! Very excited but nervous as have never taught that year - ever!

Any f1 teachers or f2 with experience of f1 care to share some words of wisdom?

3 - 4 year olds? What I would call Nursery ?

It's very different from older dc. Are you in England? You'll be following the EYFS, and learning is led by the dcs' interests.

I guess reading the EYFS would be a good place to start.

Are you at work now? Or could you go in and spend time with the current staff before they break up ?

Nursery age but in a foundation unit. Am fairly up to date with eyfs as my placements were all down there for teacher training in reception but havent taught f1 yet.

Im currently teaching in year 3 so not much scope to go in and peruse.. was hoping there were some f1 teachers on mn to give me some pearls of wisdom :)

I'm a FS1 teacher. You need a very supportive team, very flexible planning and know the statutory framework inside out. Will you have a manager/ admin person to sort out children funding forms/ hours/ fees etc?
