Flexible working request help!

I am trying to fill out my flexible working request form, and struggling.

I want to request 3 days and am struggling to think of what to write in the 'impact on employer and colleagues' section.

Basically, I was originally employed as a PPA cover teacher but was asked during my first year at the school to take on a class due to staffing issues. I agreed but made it clear I would like to return to PPA cover the year after. I then fell pregnant and started my maternity leave just before the summer holidays.

Ideally I would like to return to PPA cover on my return, so the usual impact of a split class wouldn't apply. So I'm not sure what the impact would be?

There is also the possibility that they would want to give me a class again, which in all likelihood would prompt me to resign (it would be too much on top of caring for my son alongside the recent news that my MIL has Alzheimer's and the caring role dp and I will be taking on).

It is making my head spin. Can anyone advise?!

I'm not a teacher but familiar with flexible working policies.

The ACAS website gives guidance on how the request must be submitted & considered by your employer. It also gives guidance under the reasons an employer van decline your request. So if you look at that and address the points that will strengthen your case

Does your school have a specialist form? I just wrote a letter to the chair of governors and email a copy to the head teacher outlining my reasons. My reasons as my daughter's primary carer I wanted to be able to be the best Mum and the best teacher I could be and I felt I could only do this by working part time.

I went on the TES forum and it was a thread on there that helped me form my foe I working request.
I cannot remember 'her' name (Theo I think) and she gave a list of EVERY POSSIBLE reason as to why a school may decline your request. Withbthose you have to then suggest solutions do as yo make it hard for a school to say no.
It was, IMO, a faultless method of applying.

Yes heirhelp I sent my letter in and was told they now require a form to be filled out.
