Applying for a job in child's school

A position that i am qualified has come up in my child's school and I am thinking about applying. These positions rarely come up in any school locally. Because child is still school age, ideally I need to stay local, but have extended the search.
Anyway. Asked child, who doesn't mind because this is their last year.
However if I got an interview do I need to mention this? If so during the interview at the end during the anything else you would like to add part, if offered the position?
I realise it's a daft question but I really don't know. I also don't want to contact school and ask them this daft question would rather do it anonymously.

The school wouldn't know unless there's certain staff on the interview panel. Our surnames are different. Management are new. I rarely enter the building to collect/drop off. But obviously teachers and other staff members know who I am, as do child's friends and their parents.

Yes you'd have to disclose that it is your child.

Yes, I think you would need to disclose it straight away, but I don't see that it would have any negative issues for you as a candidate, especially as it is DC's last year.

Depending on the LA you may find its on the specific application form. It's definitely on ours.

Disclose it but it won't (or shouldn't) affect the chances of you getting the job. Our Admin office is currently staffed entirely by parents of children currently on roll and most of our TAs started when their children attended the school.

I had to disclose when I applied at my current school. In fact it was a bit of a selling point where I am as they are keen to build stronger links with the local community.

The only thing on the application is asking if I am related to someone who works for the LA.

But it won't be an issue anyway - are you concerned?

There's always that voice that tells you maybe you won't get it because your child works there.
Like with any process you have to hope that full procedures are followed.
I also wasn't sure about mentioning it because they aren't allowed to mention children so does this put them in an awkward position.

I recently employed a parent of two students. There was never a question about it being inappropriate, she was the best candidate on the day, therefore she was offered the job. We've had no regrets

Is your child in primary or secondary?

I applied for a job at my DC's primary. I had to email the application form and included it in the email- along the lines of- 'I am very familiar with the school as a parent, I feel that I understand and share the ethos of the school...'
