We break up on Thursday 22nd and go back on Monday 9th (Scotland) - lots of people seem to have broken up really early this year.

NOW! Thank goodness because I've had a sore throat all week which has made things tricky in terms of carrying on teaching with very little voice and an excited class. And now I've got a chest infection so I'm glad I have the week to recover before Christmas.

We go back on the 3rd.

Broke up Dec 16. Go back Feb 1st. It's 34 deg C outside. The pool in the garden is looking enticing.
Emigrated to Australia 20 years ago! Still remember teaching in London with great fondness!

We finish Friday 23rd and return on the 9th. Glad I'm not hosting Christmas this year.

Angels I was getting envious of all these people breaking up yesterday till I realised they go back much earlier than us. I remember teaching in England, coming up to Scotland for NY and then having to start again on 3rd - complete nightmare!!

We go back for a pointless 3 days of babysitting next week (last day is the 21st), then back for INSET on the 3rd Jan. Only a week and a half off :(

Normally I'm up for three days of Fun Activities, but no one is going to be learning anything, it's all parties and movies and house rewards and singing and TAKE YOUR BLOODY ART HOME and my class will not be able to cope. I'm just going to get them to make my displays for next term!

Same dates as you op, in Ireland standardised Christmas hols so the whole country primary and secondary have the same holidays.

Downside to having a lovely long summer break (over 7 weeks).

We finished on Friday, going back on the 4 th for inset. That's 2.5 weeks off, which is lovely and really needed. I struggled on through a horrible cold, doing tons of marking for y11 mocks, y12 tests, y7&10 tests too. The last 2 weeks of term were awful, for me and the kids, with just the last lesson for each class being Christmas based (y11 and 12 didn't even get that).

Dd2 is 6 and today is the first day that she's been up to doing anything Christmas related at home, she's been utterly exhausted and very, very grumpy.
