I haven't and it's starting to piss me off. Last year we didn't get it til the last day of the summer term. Totally new SLT this year - kind of hoped that might make a difference. Angry

Last year ours was kept secret until the last day, but this year it has been around the office so people can see.

Not yet-usually get it about a week before end of term, two if we are lucky!

Haha, I work in a small SEMH school (less kids but more differentiation) and I'll be lucky to get our new timetable in August.

I've got mine for the department (HOD). I've made some changes to rooms (to give priority to NQT for the main subject room) and I've shown it to the other teachers in my department.

First editions have gone out and corrections need to be made by Friday I believe. Never seen them this organised in 7 years though!

I've seen mine, although it could be still subject to change. I only know which year groups I'm teaching and when, not what sets I'll have.

I need to know because I'm part time and need to sort out childcare because I work different hours on a two week timetable. This is the earliest I've seen it, once it was a last day of term job which was really stressful.

Ours was supposed to be given out to subject leaders today. I was hoping to start looking at it today, but our timetable person is being typically cloak and dagger about it. Sigh.

Last year we got ours emailed over sumner ... Usually the last couple of days of term

We are already 1 week into our new timetable!

We've been told 20th June. Mind you we're in N Ireland so finish 10
Days later so not a lot of time for prep for next year.

Nope. Normally get it during the last week and wait for it to be adapted over the summer. It's even more annoying as I've applied to go from ft to 0.8 and they haven't approved it yet.

In my experience schools vary hugely on this. Some seem to be ready weeks before the holiday while others aren't ready till after the holidays have started. It's annoying. I love getting mine as as I'm part time it makes a real difference to my childcare and other plans but they don't seem to realise this despite me telling them every year. Sometimes I ask if mine's ready and the response is,"Oh yours has been ready for ages."

I'm a HOD and it's very irritating. This year we were short of staff in the English dept so I ended up with the world and his wife teaching my subject (drama) because the other qualified drama teacher was moved into English. It's been a disaster - my year 10 option group is only 11 on the back of Year 9 teaching being so shit this year (I had 60 last year) and I don't even know who will be teaching in my dept next year, let alone who will have which groups. Grrr.

We don't normally get our timetables until two weeks before the end of term, and we're told that they may change over the summer. We get our final timetables on our first CPD day (usually the day before the kids come back)

Ah right, can't just stick a somebody else's problem field around it then.

What really annoys me about the timetable is that as a part-timer, my timetable defines my life for the next year. How much time I spend with my kids. How much I pay in childcare. How many school-pickups/drop-offs I have to get someone else to do. How much work I'll be doing at the weekends. I need to know it to start organising my life, but they treat it as something 'nice to know'.

The latest I've ever had mine was the day after term started in September. It was revised approximately every two weeks until the October half term. Pathetic.

Current school are amazingly efficient though.

I'm a TA, but me head of department has had a provisional copy. We're in the art department, she's down to teach GCSE Chemistry! Grin

I think they need to go back to the drawing board with it!

My school is pretty good at keeping to requests for working days. It's hard work for the timetables but they try their best.

I know who's teaching which year groups and classes for Y11 & Y13 which is all that matters. My subject isn't set so which group you get is irrelevant.

OneOfTheGrundys · 15/06/2016 22:26

We're meant to get ours next week but with the number of times it'll be changed between now and September it's not worth it really. I always take a desultory glance, think 'that's nice' or 'harrumph' and pin it somewhere insignificant above my desk. Wink

We never get ours till July at the earliest. Hod has discussed options with people but detail not known. I am lucky as part time in our place is done on set days which don't change. Although I am on mat leave from 2 weeks time so doesn't affect me.

Reason for the late issuing - slt member of staff who does it also has yr11,12,13 classes to support at this time of year so once exams done it gets blitzed.

I am gappy knowing by end of term - don't need to know much earlier as we do detailed notes hand over each year.
