Who to complain to?

Without going into any detail I have a complaint about my child's primary school. I have tried the school's complaints system but got absolutely nowhere. I have spoken to Ofsted who would not get involved telling me I should complain to the school's leadership team. The problem is the leadership team so I'm really struggling with what to do next. It seems they are untouchable! I know other parents that have spoken to the LEA and again got nowhere. Any ideas on what to do please?

Have you followed the formal complaints procedure as published by the school?

Usually the procedure is to contact the chair of governors if you have a complaint about the headteacher. If it's an academy then I don't know.

Thank you, yes I tried the complaints procedure up to the LEA dealing with it. They won't do anything because the school got good results. Unfortunately parents problems tend to get 'swept under the carpet' and not dealt with. The chair of governors is also a very good friend of the head! and the rest of the board of governors are made up of staff and a couple of parents.

What's the complaint about?

Have you tried your MP?

What is the complaint.

Have you complained in writing to the head and had a response?
Have you complained in writing to the Chair of Governors and had a response?
Have you complained to the LEA and had a response?

Because it may well be procedure has been followed and your complaint has been heard but there is nothing to answer for.

MP or local press, depending on your problem.

That assumes she has a problem - we live in a culture where people expect to get what they want by complaining enough.

Complaints about members of the SLT do not get swept under the carpet because the school gets good results.
If you have followed procedure, they have found in favour of the SLT at every level of the complains procedure. This suggests that you do not have a case.
If your relationship with the school has broken down, perhaps move schools
