Can I get an EAL certificate quickly?

Could anyone advise me please? Do I need an EAL certificate to teach children with English as an additional language in the UK? Also, is there a way of getting a certificate online quickly? It is more of a means of jumping through hoops as I have been teaching children abroad who don't speak English for several years and have a Masters in teaching English. But I am presuming this is a prerequisite in British schools. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks for that. So if I've taught for 5 years, often to children who do not have English as their first language, and am trained in dyslexia teaching I may be able to apply for EAL roles without any extra training.....
