It will be an equal opps interview, so when they ask you if you've any questions, ask "Is there anything I haven't covered?"- this will give the panel the opportunity to go off-script and ask you about something you may not have mentioned, or question you further on something you mentioned too briefly.

Good luck Smile

If you haven't already done so, get over to TES and read all the articles posted by TheoGriff, which include sample questions for leadership interviews. Rehearse your answers to each of these. There's also useful advice about having bullet points of the key things you want to be able to work into your answers somewhere so that you can make sure you make the opportunity to say everything you want to.

Actually - I should take my own advice - I'm sitting staring at an application for a DH post, getting nowhere fast!

I'm on the board for a private school and we recently recruited a new head.

Have you been asked to do a presentation?
If yes make sure it's interesting and not waffle but don't talk down to the govs ( one candidate was illustrating his point with his collection of Lego figures - we are not in Y3)

Assuming you'll be taken to meet the staff and students at some point, this was very important not just a time filler. The feedback from staff and some of our senior students was not great on one of our candidates ( she was easily the strongest on paper, but was cold and uninterested in the students, huge red flag for us)
