Fee discount if you teach at private school?

Can anyone shed any light on this? I assume it differs from place to place but it's something I'm starting to seriously consider in the medium to long term for both my career and DC's education.

What percentage of fee discount is usual for the child of a teacher at the school?

Where I work staff get 10% automatically I think & then we can apply for a bursary & go through the same process as everyone else. Not sure though as my kids don't go there.

I think 50% is standard.

My friend gets 20% disc which is then pro-rated as she only works part time there. So not huge but better than nowt!

We get 50% (and then there is the free accommodation..)

Typically, 30-50% for teaching staff. Can be negotiated upwards.

Non-teaching posts may attract different rates of fee reduction.

I teach and have my DS in school with me.

I get 25 percent discount BUT I have to pay tax on the discount. It doesn't work out that much cheaper than full price to be honest.

Oh and staff aren't entitled to bursaries at my school although again, with the tax situation, there isn't a lot of difference in the amount you pay each month anyway.

At my school full time staff get a generous 75%. This was because the school felt that getting the children of staff into school was a good thing - many staff were going elsewhere ( state). If staff did not feel confident about educating their children in the school, how could anyone else? Mind you, comparative pay in the school is poor so the fees were a lot. Pro Rata for part time.

I have worked in two private schools. One gave 50% one gave nothing at all.

30% for me. Free lunches for both us us and all wrap around care for Ds make it financially viable.

75% at DC school (London so no accommodation).
One staff member had 3 DC there.
Like everything - negotiable and how much they want you.
