Firstly, what's it like? Do you enjoy it ? I've applied for a PGCE specialising in Foundation / KS1 and have an interview next week. Could anyone give me any hints and tips of what they might be looking for ? I'm researching current educational issues and so far have got : changes to national curriculum, assessment at the start of reception and forest schools. Are there any other issues that I should be aware of that particularly relate to Early Years ? Really appreciate any advice.

Have you spent some time in an early years and KS1 environment?

Sorry I should have said this - I have experience in a Year 2 class but haven't been able to get any in a Reception or Year 1 class so I just wondered how it differed?

Continuous provision - look at Alistair Bryce Clegg's blog, ABC Does.

Read up on good practice in Nursery. Parental partnership, outdoor learning, the importance of the prime areas of learning. There's lots of good stuff going on with 3 and 4 year olds :)
