Would anyone be able to tell me how much a level 1 teaching assistant is likely to earn/take home each month? The salary is £13 - 15k pro rata. Currently earning more than this but would love a change!

I work about 10 hours a week as a TA1 and bring home about £200 a month if that helps.

It is a very, very low wage. when I was a full time TA from 2008-9 I got only £600 as you only get paid for the hours you are in the classroom.
Different LEAs vary very slightly. TA level 3 salarys are a bit better. Any chance you could afford to do the course first? Although you usually have to be in a role to get it.
Difficult situation really.
