have been teaching and stayed in school for about 9 years. have a young family with kids, feel settled in with work routine etc. Recently applied for a position that was perfect for me but it was HOD - I was not worried about HOD responsibilities as the timetable at that school would allow plenty of time for managing the Department etc...I did not get a job and now reevaluating my situation. I am not looking for additional money, responsibilities. On the other hand, if I move on to HOD, then I owudl have greater experience and probably more opportunities for the future ( as I would then have more experience to put on my CV)?
