Get support from higher up.

What are they doing?

I got that. No support. I'm leaving teaching!

I am a primary teacher and 3 years ago I had the class from hell. One child in particular orchestrated a campaign of bullying against me.

I took it up with the SLT. They disbelieved me as he was 'such a nice child'.........

It contirbuted hugely to my slide into depression and is one of the reasons I am now leaving the profession.

My advice - keep records of what they have done. Follow the school behaviour policy TO THE LETTER and send to SLT as soon as you reach that point in the sanctions. Tell people.

Ask for someone to observe the children. I got support from a TA who believed me. She came and unobtrusively put up a display in my room. After a while he forgot she was there and started his usual crap. SLT didn't believe her either mind but knowing she beileived me was a help.

As a last resort you could refuse to teach them but that lets them win.

It happened to me after I'd had a breakdown and returned to work after a long absence. Two of the gems were: "It's not personal Miss, but we know the Head wants rid of you and we can do what we like." And "We know you had one breakdown. We're going to make sure you have another one."

Once the management have signalled lack of support I'm afraid your only option is to leave ASAP.

My favourite comment " what are you giving up for Lent miss?!" You guessed it...teaching! I was quite amused by this comment tbh. Apparently this class had a pregnant teacher crying in the cupboard.

I left Im afraid. Once my 6th form students got away with not doing any work and speaking to me like crap that was it.

I was so embarassed when another teacher heard then and intervened. I ended up crying in the cupboard.

I shouldn't be in the staffroom as not a teacher but the thread title caught my eye.
