Fat thighs vs teacher wardrobe

I'm a long time lurker but hoping no one minds my post. I'm looking for any suggestions! I'm short and have short fat legs. I find it impossible to find good fitting black trousers for work. I teach reception so I'm on the floor a lot, so although I love skirts/dresses it's not always practical.

Was wondering whether any fellow teachers could share some wisdom? Or it may be nice to just hear some ideas of your general 'teacher wardrobe'.

I teach Y1. I tend to wear skinny fitting black trousers/coloured cords with boots and tops/cardigans or jumpers, leggings with dresses over them (so the leggings look like tights but are just more comfortable) and knee-length skirts/tops/boots.

That is probably no help though!

Roll on - that's the standard uniform at my school too.
Monsterthighs - I have the same problems as you and also find it had to find trousers that don't slip down at the back when you are constantly crouching/bending down. Don't want to scar young minds with a builders bum Grin
I tend to go for longer tops to try and cover my waist.
I mostly wear skinny black trousers with knee length or biker boots - thighs be damned. It's comfort and warmth for playground duty all the way Smile

My teaching wardrobe consists of asda £6 black trousers (or their £12 ones if I'm feeling flush) and a top.

More usually though, it's a knee length dress (not shorter) teamed with leggings instead of tights for durability, and knee high boots.

I teach reception too, and find tunics or dresses with leggings work best for me. I find that when I wear trousers I get a builder's bum when sitting on the floor! This year I am keeping snow boots at school for when I am outside, and leggings work well with these.

I teach secondary, so it's a bit different, but I am a similar shape to you. My teacher wardrobe tends to be, smart black skirt with a bit of stretch, thick tights, boots, top and cardigan.

Thick black legging type trousers could be good like these ones:

I have these trousers. They hold you in and have a bit of stretch for a good fit:

Wear with boots and a long top or tunic. www.next.co.uk/g562186s4#656191g56

I get my work trousers from tesco. Then I don't care what paint lands on them.

I find them a good fit and I'm a pear.

I tend to wear a fitted shirt and longline light cardigan, string of pearls

I'm a real trend setter me (ahem) Grin
