Can I apply for a new job after only 3 weeks in post?

I started a new job after Christmas and I hate it.
I have gone from a teaching role (for last 12 years) to a mainly people and parent managing role - who 99% of the time are whining at me!
I knew when I took the job it'd be out of classroom but was told I'd be working with target groups etc as well as being office based. This doesn't appear to be the case.
Also each year group is large so ear dinner / drink coffee together is little pockets throughot the school so no opportunity for me to get to know anyone really.
I am miserable. I drive home through years 3 nights last week which isn't like me.
I just want to go back to my old school!
Maybe I haven't given it long enough. I'm not good at change really.
Anyway I've been approached by a head to apply for a job at his school. Pretty much dream job - teaching deputy. I'd love to apply but know I can't.
Gah - feel a little better just for typing this. Thanks.

Why can't you? Are there certain rules in teaching?

If it's not working out, find something else. Life is too short to drive home in tears. thanks

What appalling spelling and grammar! Apologies.

Yes of course you can resign and apply, provided you get your resignation in by 28th Feb. From what you say it hardly sounds as if you need to be conscience stricken about leaving kids in the lurch
