Unison have a special division for TAs though. Also the educational support staff groups are pretty active. They were the ones that organised the national teaching assistant day last year. Just saying.
ATL are more likely to understand issues which might arise in an education context than Unison or GMB.
Unison is good for TAs
ATL will take TAs (some of the unions require members to be in a teaching job not assisting).
I'm in Yorkshire and with GMB.
Many thanks for your reply.
I don't know if it's the best by any means, but most ta's that I work with are with Unison. They are pretty active I my county.
Hello, hope someone can help. Just wondered which union is best to join. Many thanks
