When a child is removed from the register do all their records get deleted at that time? Or do their absences etc still stay recorded against the school?

You can't just remove a child from roll. You either have
-to send their 'ctf' to another school

  • record them as missing in education
  • have a signed & dated letter from a parent stating that they are moving out of the country

until you can do one of those things the child stays on the roll of the school & their absences do get recorded against the school. Its very frustrating Sad

Thanks.
What about if a child is removed with nowhere else for them to go to?
And do you mean that once a child is removed the absences are also removed from the record of the school or would they still be recorded for a certain length of time?

They cant be removed with nowhere else to go..they have to be registered somewhere else or one of the other two options mentioned by hedgehog. You can't just de-register them.

But that is what did happen. A place was not available for weeks elsewhere and the school that de-registered the child was well aware of that.
Trying to find out what reason was given for the removal seems to be impossible as no-one is being helpful.

well that sounds bizarre and as you say, very unhelpful! Good luck in your research!
