Educational blogs for non-native speaker?

I'm in France and a friend is studying for a degree in education. She has to do an English module, which is stressing her out as she's not done any English since 1987 (!). Her first assignment is to find a blog about education and follow it. Having agreed to help out, I've found a few, but they are all quite technical and jargon-rich so she's finding it hard to read them.
Any bright ideas or good suggestions for an accessible blog she could follow?
TIA

How about that School Gate one the Times does? Behind the pay wall, however.

Or maybe this - the French take their food seriously, don't they!

I've suggested Never Seconds - they do take food seriously! It may not fit the criteria, though, we'll see...

Thanks very much.
