Would you lovely teachers be able to recommend a text book/ website to help DS year 7 in Science. His teacher said he needs to move up a level but its looking unlikely as DS sits daydreaming etc. I asked him at parents evening what we as parents could do to help but he was rather unpleasant and negative and we ended up leaving with DS quite upset.

I would love to help him but not sure where to start. Should I try to speak to teacher again or just make him do extra work as home?

If the teacher is being unhelpful, I would ask the Head of Science for some guidance on how you can support your DS with science at home.

Thanks, think I'll do that on Monday.

That's really awful. Definitely approach the Head of Science.

I'm always a fan of the CGP revision books and also BBC bitesize. In terms of a specific Year 7 Science text book, I quite like Exploring Science 7 (8 and 9). Maybe find out what they use in school?

Many thanks. Just found the CGP books online. Brilliant.
