I have an interview this week for a HoD post at a different 2ndary school. Part of the interview process includes completing a data task. Are there any SLT or current HoDS out there who could shed any light on what the task might involve as I'm desperate to get this job (long story) and I'm rubbish under pressure! Thank you MNers! Not a HoD as such but am Literacy co-ordinator. Looking to apply for first deputy position in a year or two, so will watch the replies with interest.
I would imagine you'll be given a set of data and have to analyse it, e.g. Looking for particular groups who aren't making expected progress: FSM, SEN, G and T, males, females, etc. other than that I'm not sure. Good luck though!

agree with the above, also possible target set based on the data...might be use of FFT etc to make predictions and pick up where intervention is needed. From there, you might be asked what type of interventions could be used/you would suggest. Hope I am not too late....good luck!
