Were you doing drama before? Are you going back to the same school?
If not, then have a look at how local schools (or the school you're going to) deal with drama - Gove is obviously trying to sideline it.
I can't say I recommend a theory book at all - schools treat drama differently, IME. At my current school, we do a wide variety of stuff in drama - from basic skills through to exploring ishoos through improvisation and scripts. At KS4, we do both GCSE and BTEC (Performing Arts) so I would advise someone applying to my school to become familiar with specs for both courses...
