Admit you were wrong posters?

So are those posters who were frothing about how outrageous it was that Harry and Meghan's baby was going to be born by caesarian on Prince Philip's birthday, June the 10th, admit they were wrong?
This was alleged to be another attention-seeking move on their part.
But look, the baby was born on an ordinary date and was a natural birth.

I don't understand the vitriol leveraged against them (or why it is allowed to stand here) and I wish them well. I guess some people just have sad lives.

I don’t wish them I’ll at all - they are excellent entertainment and a distraction from the crummy covid situation.

Who cares when, where or how the baby was born. Now we have the name drama to keep people talking about them.

no one will ever admit they were wrong about anything bad they say about them.

I wasn’t one of the posters “frothing” about the story, but would note that there were definitely press reports out over the weekend saying that “sources” had revealed that Meghan’s due date was 10 June (this date would also have been Phillip’s 100th birthday). This was not information previously known to anyone, and it attracted worldwide press coverage.

In reality, as we now know, the baby had actually already been born at that point, which was announced later on the weekend. So - there are a couple of options. One: the due date story was complete fiction, made up by a journalist to give them something to write about. Another possibility is that the story was released by Harry and Meghan as part of a planned PR strategy that would seed a story about them to get them on all the news platforms, follow it up with the actual birth news, and then release some nice puff pieces about the gifts and congratulations they are receiving, and how they have zoomed with the Queen etc, in order to give them several days at the top of the news cycle.

In case you think that latter scenario is unlikely, it is the exact playbook they followed for Archie’s birth. They announced Meghan had gone into labour several hours after Archie was born, and then once all the outlets had the story running, dropped the news of his birth.

Imo she tries so hard to make a point of not wanting to be on centre stage it makes her on centre stage.
Apparently she said she didn't travel to PP funeral so the eye wasn't on her..
As if...
Care zero about either of them.

YANBU at all on your main point. However, YABtotallyU to say the baby was born on just 'an ordinary date' as it was my birthday so a very special date indeed 😉

I’ve not read anything about the planned birth, nor really have any opinion but just because the baby was born a few days ago doesn’t mean that the plan wasn’t for a c section on the 10th but the baby came early!!
Who really cares what date it is born on as long as it’s healthy

Who really cares? The baby was born safely and both mother and daughter are fine which is all that matters. As for people apologising about getting the date wrong (along with those who are predicting a divorce) - what's it to you that some opinions are proved wrong? I wouldn't want to be in the same room as this ridiculous couple but the intrusive and prurient interest in them and their lives is unbelievable.

Just remember that racism comes from a place of low intelligence, then all the nonsense makes much more sense.

In most cases, you can't pre-plan, can you!? It would have been a coincidence - and anyway, they could have called it Philippa. (that was just a small joke btw).

I had no idea when Prince Philips birthday was and didnt see that thread. I did read a few times the baby would be born on Princess Diana's birthday. Nobody knows what kind of birth it was. Why would it matter anyway.

Never heard that. I did say that it was more than likely due around the Queens birthday in the 12th ( bearing in mind no dates were given) So yeah I was wrong about that.
And yet the name drama will still be news on Saturday.

I’m absolutely sure they just got pregnant without much thought ,given MM miscarriage. But they really don’t help themselves with the timing of the drama. Couldn’t they have waited a week to argue about the name with the BBC.

I was wrong - thought it would be 10th June or 1st July.

I'm not totally sorry though, as they did find it necessary to announce that the baby was due on 10th June - and then used HM's pet name. Total lack of emotional intelligence imo.

It's funny - so many things over the past three years, us skeptics have said what they might do that would be detrimental to the RF (big interview, cash in on their status etc.) and been told that we're cynical racists. I don't see too many apologies now that they have proven their selfish motivations, as forecast by so many people.

I don't remember seeing any posts whatsoever claiming what you alleged in OP, and I hang around royal threads quite a lot.

Which thread was it on, or was it not on MN at all?

Where was the frothing, OP?

And if it did happen do you think one wrong call in an endless stream of upstaging is that big a deal?

A google search doesn't seem to find anyone talking about this. I mean, someone probably did say it at some point, but it doesn't sound like there were packs of people confidently predicting this.

I vaguely remember people wondering when the baby would be born but I thought most favoured Diana’s birthday if any “planning” was involved 🤷‍♀️ I didn’t notice any “frothing”. Interestingly, the birth announcement was on the anniversary of D-day which is a time when Harry. If he had still been a full time Royal and there had been no pandemic, would probably have been heavily involved in military commemorations.
