The royal family

Harry & Meghan - to hope the Royals answer back?

I think the allegations in the Oprah interview are serious enough that protocol should be breached and the Royals should have a voice to give their side too.

Oh absolutely. I'd love to hear their thoughts on Archie's skin colour fi.

Don’t worry their ‘sources’ will give their side.
It would be a mistake for the Royal Family to start attacking the couple .
If I was doing PR for the Royal Family, I would advise that the Royal Family consider some type of mediation with a view to reconciliation.
The cat is out of the bag now. If more fuel is added to the fire it would be even more disastrous for the Royal Family

Extending the tit for tat won’t help anyone. Sometimes a dignified silence is needed.

Talk should go on behind the scenes yes but not in the public domain.

They need to put out a statement about the fact that great grandchildren typically don’t get titles, at the very least.

Tbh, why doesnt the queen just strip harry of his royal titles?

But the best response would be to simply say that they are not going to play these childish games or respond to false accusations.

Ohh this could run and run!

Probably best not to to be fair!

They can’t say that because the accusations are probably not false

@BalancedIndividual how do you know they are false? Given Prince Philip’s propensity to drop horrendously racist clangers in public, is it really beyond the realms of possibility similar had been said in private?

At this point I don’t even know why we even have a monarchy.

I don’t think they will. They don’t do they?

@OwlBeThere

Sorry, completely forgot about prince philip. (For some reason, I was only thinking about the queen, william, etc).

This. I think they should but it needs to remain factual.

They will ignore ignore ignore - at least in public anyway.

This. And "the cat isn't out of the bag" because it could all be a load of bull - I expected better from M&H.

I don’t even think it was Philip.

Poor Philip, almost 100 years old, in hospital, the world speculating on what he might have said.

They will in private too - or that will be in follow up interview!

Why would you assume they’re the false?

I doubt they’ll be any official response. In time it will just blow over, the public will continue with its weird love of the royal family, Harry and Meghan will become less and less relevant (but probably much much happier) as the years pass, and that will be that.

I am doubtful the royal family will make any statements

It’s akin to washing your dirty Landry in public & that’s not the style of the royal family in usual circumstances

Lots of family relations are difficult, Dina mics strained but to batter those members in public would be very difficult for relationships to be resolved afterwards

My guess is either there will be a 'dignified silence' from the RF or else a very bland statement saying they are 'disappointed to learn of M&H's unhappiness' or similar.

Blacktothepink · 08/03/2021 12:25

The rf will start leaking bits to the media, I suspect.

I think they should go the whole hog and fight it out on Facebook.

Sooner they are ignored and 'allowed their privacy', the better for all.

I want to hear exactly who made the comment on Archie's skin colour, exactly verbatim what they said, exactly what their concerns were.

Then, assuming it's as bad as it very likely is, I'd like them to kindly fuck off remove themselves from the succession.

Ta.

There will be leaks from 'sources' but I doubt any official statement tbh.

Chris Ship (think it was him) said his sources said the comment didn't come from the Queen or Prince Philip. He speculated that meant it was either Charles or William or their wives. Bare in mind, we don't know the tone or the context of the comment either.
