Meghan and Oprah

I've always supported Meghan and felt she was treated appallingly by the press and that the RF should have stuck up for her more. I've just read a piece in the Guardian which says that Meghan only met Oprah for the first time 2 months before her wedding to Harry, when Meghan invited Oprah to her home. Indeed, when Oprah attended the wedding, they had only ever met once. This has really got me thinking. I can't imagine inviting someone to my wedding I'd met once. It really does point to it being a transactional / cultivated friendship. The reporter suggests that with hindsight it would appear this was all planned well in advance. What do others think? Did anyone else know that they had only met once? I had assumed they were old friends. Also, Oprah tweeted a link to a vegan smoothie company in which Meghan has invested, after Meghan bought her a hamper of smoothies. the company sales skyrocketed along with the company shares. This makes me feel really uncomfortable. It's not against the law I guess, but it doesn't seem to align with M&H's wholesome image.
