No harm in having it ready for the next event/announcement...

brave woman froq! Grin

is everyone ok, not merely surviving but thriving? I do hope so. I'm off to the Prince Andrew thread to see what's going on there (should be working...)

See you on the PA thread froq! I'm definitely only surviving today! Grin

I was once in the supermarket not long after having DS. I picked up a 5kg bag of rice and absentmindedly strolled along holding it close and rocking it and i walked in a sway (as you do). Thank god I wasnt singing to it.

I never quite went that far, but I remember standing in a supermarket queue and realizing that I was swaying from side to side trying to comfort an imaginary baby. Also very sleep deprived at the time.

The bump touching discussion in the last thread was a bit.... mad. I dunno, maybe MM just liked the way she looked when pregnant? Pregnant women are all supposed to hate it when they get a huge pregnant bump but I loved it. I felt very sort of womanly and maternal and stuff like that. I got a big thrill every time I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror.

Tried posting this in the previous thread but by the time I hit post it was full

PerfPower
The Trump touch 🤢
It does make it look like she's the one calling the shots when she does power poses like that. So it's easy to assume, rightly or wrongly, that she is the one calling the shots

I believe though that it is her calling the shots

Someone below said they'd been hounded out the country. So they've said. I can't see Harry wanting to leave. He said before he questioned leaving the Royal family so the Queen rejigged a role for him, so she would have done it again. I think they left as MM found the country and the RF too stifling. She wasn't thriving

Grin always thriving here!

I hope you’re all ok?

That article sums it up nicely doesn’t it jeff:

“Her Majesty gave the Sussexes the freedom to live without royal titles so that she could continue her acting career. However, the Duchess of Sussex herself reportedly refused the offer, Express reported.”

I guess this is the sticking point. Had Her Maj offered the freedom WITH titles then they’d have bitten her glove off.

PMK

I shall post nothing until there is a newsworthy event.

I also predict that this thread will get to 1,000 posts before anything does.

@Froq

LaMarschallin the banana photo was taken from the Mirror, I think, who had it credited to one of the charity workers.

How are you so sure they’re not Meg’s bananas?

I thought the picture didn't look like anything that has been photographed at the event. So I Googled what I guessed might have been used to bring it up - "Meghan inspirational bananas" in my case - and there the picture was.

Further clicking (very easy, I have to say) revealed the original on pinterest saying it was the idea of a school cafeteria worker and giving examples of what may be written on bananas. Obviously MM got the idea from that.

You could have just clicked on the link I put in my post. Would have lead you straight there.

Best to check your source.

Sorry about the @ but I had to bring this over from the last thread in order to answer your question and it may have got lost.

There's the link. Hope I've saved you from repetitive strain injury.

She was certainly guilty of using someone else's idea but didn't necessarily write all the messages shown in the photo.

No need to apologise re the @, I have no problem with it.

Thank you for explaining again and apologies for not following the link you posted on the last thread.

When your source is the Daily Express, perhaps you should question what is being said.

They can't even get the weather right.

Okay @Gracefullhippo lets pretend the Express is a reliable source (now owned by Trinity Mirror whose paper, the Mirror, are being sued by PH).

Report
GracefulHippo · 28/01/2020 13:23

Eh... a) I didn’t say it was a reputable source...? never read it I think b) it was a light hearted remark - hence the smile. Crikey, I should have added < light hearted > at the end...

If we do discuss it seriously, I don’t think accuracy in weather predictions is a measure of journalistic integrity in this country (temperamental weather)

Any newspaper, regardless of wether predictions can obviously be a piece of rubbish

Thinking about it, Meghan was a professional actress so was an expert on how best to position herself flatteringly, hit her mark, tilt her chin for her best side etc. Acting is a very physical process. She probably doesn't even realise she's doing it anymore, but that's why her mannerisms look off kilter and forced.

I watched a fascinating documentary on Marilyn Monroe where she could just 'become Marilyn' like flicking a switch. She could walk down a street unnoticed, then she would add a sway to her walk and a hip wiggle and start touching her hair and face, and it was like she was lit up by a spotlight.

Wow TM's TMZ interview. He's really going for it. Not much time left at 75 years old and so on. He's got a point I suppose.

Does anyone else feel like the Duke and Duchess were running away from the wrong problem? UK media this, UK media that "we tried" when in reality the problem was elsewhere...and unfortunately much closer to home, i.e. Meghan's dad. It feels a bit to me like displaced anger and frustration.
