The royal family

We're merging some sections into the Chat area

Hi all,
We’re doing some work on making the Talk boards more useful and user-friendly for both regular and new users. After looking at some stats for the site, we think we could boost activity on the whole by merging some of the lesser used sections.

We’re proposing to fold this section into the general Chat area.

This should increase the number of topics in the section - and hopefully lead to more posts and responses to members.

I think it wouid be a shame if this topic went.

I know some threads about Royals are active in other topics, but having a place to put them all together is a good thing

I've seen a number of these notices today and in all the other cases I've just thought 'ah, high time'. Not this one though, there are tonnes of active royal threads that could and should be moved here.

If feminism, Christmas and Brexit can be tidied away then the royals should be too.

Crown

Wan't this topic set up specifically so that Royal threads did nit take over the main boards when something major happened? At request of both pro and anti.

In the early days reads were mixed so people actually used the topic. As InterchangeableEmma says, encouraging use of topics is something MNHQ does. I think it would be wrong to cull this topic now, and would indeed prefer to see the opposite ie moving threads here.

Think of it's as part of the planning for when the Queen dies?

I absolutely agree Stella. There are tonnes of royal threads ATM, it'd be good to see them consistently moved here.

It's true that there are redundant topics aplenty and I'm pleased to hear MNHQ are planning a spring clean. Big royal news is something that's going to keep happening and there are always strong feelings about it.

I agree with the others. I'd like to see the many threads about the royals tidied up over here so I can hide them rather than have them clutter up Active.
