It must be a bit dusty in here - watching the amazing Chelsea Pensioner Bill Speakman.

After smiling at the account of colleague who learned to strip down a Bedford truck with her.

We're watching. I think she's looking her 90 years but I also think 'gangan!!' Is amazing. I love that she's still riding.
Bitch fest....Sophie is looking old and what exactly do Beatrice and Eugenie 'do'?

EdithWeston · 27/03/2016 21:17

I don't think I've ever heard The Countess of Wessex speak before, she sounded really normal.

I noticed that Prince Charles always refers to his mother as the Queen or Her Majesty, but the others use more ordinary family names

(I heard 'gangan' and started imagining the Quuen gangnam style!)

I am not watching as have family staying but recording it and will watch it tomorrow when they have gone. Looking forward to seeing it.

EdithWeston · 27/03/2016 21:24

It's a very affectionate look at her life.

I liked the bit about the New Zealand rugby team - big bruisers suddenly all shy and nervous.

I am watching. Its not very acceptable to say in our family/area but i secretly love the queen and the royal family so am really loving this programme. Another one here with a dusty room when Bill Speakman was on. I cannot believe she is still riding at 90! What a woman!

"It's a great way of keeping moles down, 8,000 people on your lawn" Grin

fakenamefornow · 27/03/2016 21:32

I felt a bit sorry for her really watching her walking down the isle of Westminster Abbey to be crowned. She looked like a sacrificial lamb. The programme is painting quite a nice picture of her life though.

EdithWeston · 27/03/2016 21:32

Prince Harry looks very Hanoverian with that beard.

If you were Charles, would you take the crown when she dies, or think I'm 70/ 80ish, I'll pass it on to William?

RudeElf · 27/03/2016 21:40

If i was charles i would pass it on to william. Not sure what will happen in reality though. Is it a simple enough matter for him to pass it on if the time comes?

Paramiribella · 27/03/2016 21:41

I'm loving it. Secret royalist here.

RudeElf · 27/03/2016 21:41

Perhaps she will live another 15/16 years and they'll hand it straight to george Grin

RudeElf · 27/03/2016 21:42

Ahh Obama. Love him too.

MNetter15 · 27/03/2016 21:43

Do you think she's watching? Smile

EdithWeston · 27/03/2016 21:43

"the Queen is awesome " according to the US ambassador. And is a point of stability for the whole world.

They pointed out that dhe had been on the throne for 10 years before Obama was born - just amazing. Nice birthday message to her from him.

I bet she'd be fab on a pub quiz team. Between her knowledge of politics, horse racing, history, and geography she would be awesome!

AnguaResurgam · 27/03/2016 21:45

Lolimax Grin - I'm just imagining the viewing figures for "Pointless Royalty"

RudeElf · 27/03/2016 21:45

I would say she has already watched it.

Also i think Harry needs to settle down and marry me. What are the chances of him choosing a catholic single mum of two from a largely republican area of NI as his bride? Grin

RudeElf · 27/03/2016 21:45

Oh she would lolimax!

Lolimax · 27/03/2016 21:51

I see her more on The Chase, coming out to glare down at the contestants. Woe betide if any of them call her Gangan. Bradley would wet himself!
And I can't imagine that ITV would have been allowed to film it unless ma'am or her press office had final say.
Rude elf could you cope with the mil though? Don't come complaining on here about her mind!!!

Washbasket · 27/03/2016 21:52

RudeElf - I heard that for Charles to pass the baton straight to Will, he'd need to abdicate, which requires passing an act of Parliament and the abdicator's children also get taken out of the line of succession.

Washbasket · 27/03/2016 21:53

So Will wouldn't get to be King

Ok, it would have skewed the documentary to show more, but the first bit of her speech to the WI about the (positive) changes to the role of women in British society since it was founded (100 years ago, so pretty much during her lifetime) seemed great.

Anyone know if the full version is available anywhere?

Camilla? She seems quite nice. I havent really seen much of her tbh. Could harry cope with my mum? I barely can Grin

So charles cant pass on to william then? He will be king unless he dies before the queen?

RudeElf · 27/03/2016 21:58

edith you could try youtube for the full speech?
