Do they take their tents down in time for the parade thing. Because they take up an awful lot of room and it seems a bit selfish me [chmm]

I'm assuming they all wee in their hats as well unless there's suddenly public toilets en route.

Yes, the "where do they wee?" question has been preoccupying me way too much. I'm sure they take down the tents.

Why? Is the only question that matters surely?

I think they take down their tents and then get carted away for psychiatric assessment. Wink

I was wondering where they wee'd too. On the bbc news today there was a young lad who had slept out all night without a tent, and said it was freezing. It made me think of the homeless what they have to endure come rain or shine.

London is lining The Mall with public toilets.
These people camping along the route fascinates me......Amazing but slightly nutty too. I guess they just love the royal family so so much . Personally I couldnt stand being cold at night....and it hasnt been that warm in the daytime either.

Today I bought some union jacks and a sleeping bag. At the till, I looked at my shopping, realisation dawned and i hurriedly pointed out that no, I was not going to camp out on the streets of London for the wedding.

Weirdos.

They probably take them down tonight then sat up all night to get the best spot - fruitcakes!

They have got to be barmy!

They are stuck in one spot for days on end in potentially freezing cold/boiling hot/wet rainy weather, no access to a shower (but presumably access to some public toilet or portaloo), in a tent at night and with limited access to clothes, food etc.

Not to mention all the other equally barmy people they are surrounded by and can't escape from

I have just driven down the Mall. The people camping out are having a fab time. There is music, flags are waving, photos being taken. There are about 15 portaloos and a really party atmosphere. I wouldn't camp out because I hate discomfort, but I don't think they are weirdos or fruitcakes...just people who want to be part of the atmosphere and have a good time.

I've done madder things... but not for the royal family!

I am sure they will take the tents down early in the morning - if they didn't they'd get trampled all over!

I turned on the news - in the hope of watching the some news before the wall-to-wall coverage, fat chance! - tents seem already to have vanished. Crowd is now being directed to fold all chairs and other paraphernalia.
