Leo Update..

Bit of an update: Leo ended up back at the vets on Saturday as he got up and wouldn't eat or drink again.

He has had a bad case of gastroenteritis. I have missed him so much that I stress cleaned the whole house at the weekend and I just sit at home when I am back from work and just look at his favourite corner and cry.

Hopefully he will be home tomorrow after having scans and tests and a feeding tube as the furry little monster won't eat anything they put in front of him.

Hopefully he won't hate us for leaving him at the vets.

Which leads me onto my question; What can I do to make sure he comes home as stress free as possible when we pick him up tomorrow? x

Feliway.

treats / ham / whatever the vet says he can have that won't upset him.

He will probably sulk but you are doing the best for him.

He’ll just be relived to be out of there. Your poor boy.

Be guided by him. He'll be so happy to be home, he might hide away for a little bit, just to settle himself in or he might take it all in his stride. Does he have a favourite food or treat you could get for him?

Poor boy. Just let him be when he gets home. If he's anything like my two, he'll just be happy to be home.

I've stocked up on fresh chicken for chicken treats and scrambled egg in case he turns his nose up at his usual food.

He has perked up according to the vet and is nibbling food now :D

I just miss his smooshy little face and can't wait to get him home where he belongs x

@AlfonsoTheTerrible ah no worries!

@Fluffycloudland77 that's what I'm so glad about. He hadn't eaten since Friday evening until this afternoon so it's a massive step.

Will be come home with the feeding tube? Magic did. It was really easy to use.

@Toddlerteaplease He's on his way home without the feeding tube. My husband is picking him up and will ring me when he gets home :)

I am so excited to see him!

He's home, he's eaten, and he's not moping or sad...

45 minutes after getting home he decided he wanted to investigate the shelf he's not usually bothered with sitting on 🤣

How's the gorgeous boy today?

He's smashing today. Still a bit groggy on and off but overall he's better than he was.

He's just having his last meal for the day with added antibiotics (what a struggle they are to get down him) and hopefully he will sleep tonight as he was restless last night.

I'm just really glad he's home :)

Here's an update pic of him chilling on his radiator bed :)

Have you got a pill syringe for him? I used to get 8 pills a day for. Maia that way.

Oh my goodness, what a handsome boy! Beautiful eyes. Glad he's on the mend, bet he's relieved to be back with his people. You can get that pill paste that molds around a pill, my cats loved it. They sold it at the vets, might be worth asking if it distressing to medicate him. If not pate is pretty effective to his a pill in.

Hi glad to hear Leo is back at home and getting better. It's so horrible when your little ones are unwell and you are so desperate to help them. Our kitten is on caged care at the moment. He is doing really well but a bit subdued this morning so I'm really glad we are due to take him to the vets this afternoon for his post-op check ups.

Please continue to keep us updated.

Cheddar wants to know if she can be Leo's girlfriend. Magic has a boyfriend so she wants one too.

Luckily, last nights antibiotic was the last one.. I mixed it in with his supper and he snaffled it :D

He just has syringe stuff to solidify his poops now (which hopefully won't be for much longer).

He is definitely back to his old self! He woke me up at 6:30am biting my toes and then running up and down the bed over my bump... He also wolfed his breakfast and demanded snuggles before I came to work.

My husband has also just facetimed me as to show me that Leo is proudly sat in our front window trying to catch the bees that are coming in the front garden... yes, he's definitely better! :D
