Any Maine Coon owners?

I'd like a Maine Coon, not yet but in the future. I'm at the research stage. I've always had cats (Siamese/oriental or Bengals). I have 2 at the moment but one is rather neurotic sensitive and it would be unfair to upset her.

Please can you tell me all the good and bad points of being a Maine Coon slave.

So far I know

Better to have more than one 👍🏼

Need a catio

All the health screenings to check for

Can be destructive

Eat vast quantities of good food.

Need grooming

Are just flipping lovely grin

Anyone care to share their experiences?(obviously pics are a must grin)

My DH likes these, we don’t have one.
The one thing that stood out for me are their health issues, particularly heart problems.
Personally, I’d think about a Norwegian or Siberian forest cat instead as I’ve heard they are much healthier and look very similar, imo anyway!
