I have a rescue cat. Had him for nearly 2 years and he’s coming up 4.
He has separation anxiety and when he first came stress ate.
With Covid I’ve been working from gone some days so he got used to me around more. Started waking me up very early once I was at work more and now shut downstairs so I can sleep properly. He’s settled into this but his routine has been unsettled most of the year which seems to have affected his eating.
When I got him he was on cheap dry kibble and his coat was not in a good way, but I swopped him to better quality kibble and put him on a diet as he needed to lose weight. The vet suggested he go on both diet wet food and dry, and I had him successfully on different brands. But I swopped to the same brand of each 3 weeks ago and since then he had been increasingly fussy with his food: some days he eats mostly wet, other days mostly dry. But I can’t find a wet food he’ll eat consistently: nothing with fish though he will eat canned tuna.
I guess I just need assurance he’ll eat and not starve himself. He’s got a choice of foods but nothing seems to stop him wanting something different: he’s a tad princessey really. Never had a cat this fussy!
