I've has my tuxedo cat for nearly 3 years, he's a rescue. He's called Henry.
V friendly, loves a fuss, lots of dribbles.
But he bats if we tickle his tummy, which is fair enough.
Last week my little boy said to me that Henry only bats if you touch his white bits.
Since then I've been observing... And he's right!
Henry will stand all amounts of strokes/scritches on his black fur but if you go near the white, he bat's.. As the photo shows... Chin and ears fine.. Neck or tummy. No chance!
Is this a thing?

The diagram nicely sums up cat petting.

Hahaha. That's very true for him. Maybe I am lulled by his "brother" who we adopted at the same time.
Basically loves any sort of stroking!

That’s brilliant, @Lonecatwithkitten

Mine has the tummy area as ‘hell no’!

The head and neck is “yes”

The tail is usually fine for three strokes, any more is taking a Liberty.

The back is fine but makes her stand on tip toes every time.

Everything else is not appreciated.

She especially does not enjoy getting her feet wiped when she comes in from the garden. She assures me that messy paw prints are a fashion statement for any floor covering
I remain unconvinced. Grin

Cheddar has a white bikini patch on her tummy that she loves having tickled. Although she loves being tickled anywhere, she has no 'no go area'

@Elieza my boy cat. Is sometimes around head and ears and heck no over the whole of the rest of his body.
He sat next to me on the sofa this evening and a moment ago I accidentally nudged him, he had now left the building in disgust.

Heh - our late and still missed tuxedo lady was a "Don't touch the white bits" cat or she'd bite you. Luckily she was mostly black (could curl up and you couldn't see white).
Current tuxedo boy has more of a bandit mask and loves chin tickles so it doesn't hold. Except the tummy is definitely hell, no. He does the handtrap of doom by lying on his back looking at us and daring us to tickle. I have scars.

Give Henry a suitable tickle from us please!

I have 3 cats currently. All hugely tolerant of fuss, although one will arch away from you if she's not in the mood.
A previous cat of mine, I used to warm people that they fussed her at their own risk. She was an absolutely stunning Calico, seemed really friendly but then would turn psycho. Mellowed hugely in her twilight years and was a really sweet old girl. When young though, every part of her was stroked at peril.

He is the same colours as ours! Black splodge under chin and on nose. I have to add they aren't tuxedo; a tuxedo is mostly black with white bib and likely paws, belly etc. Ours and yours could be classed as "cow cat".
To be honest ours is a tart who is generally happy to be stroked anywhere unless he is in full play mode. Here he is helping unpack the shopping.

They are so funny arent they!
Love the shopping pic above @Vinorosso74 !

Do any of yours try to groom you by licking, nibbling and then biting you? Mine does that. They must have really thick skin as the licking and nibbling is fine but trying to bite me is my Hell No! I think she thinks I will go into play mode and bite her back but she should know by now I don’t, I just screech Owwww pack that in. Grin

Cheddar likes to brush my wet hair with her paw.
