Start using Mumsnet PremiumKittens with different appetites
(7 Posts)We have two boys, littermates, 4 months old.
One eats like he has a flip top lid, the other is a grazer.
They have a mix of wet and dry food. Flip top lid is definitely putting on the pounds, and grazer is still very slim. Both up to date with wormers etc.
I just worry that grazer is not eating enough, and that his brother will end up overweight.
Anyone else have cats with different appetites? How do you balance it?
Could you get micro chip feeders? Then it limits mr flip top!

I didn't even know that was a thing!
They are being chipped next month when they are castrated, so I'm off to look at that now!
Get the microchip feeder if it carries on into adulthood but kittens are often stomachs on legs like most baby animals.
Ours had a bowl empty miaow that could wake the dead till he was adult. You planned trips to the kitchen because of the shouting.
fluffy The plaintive yowl is so loud!
We had just moved them to 3 meals a day, hopefully Flip Top will slow down. He does have a tendency to push grazer out too, so we tend to try and keep an eye out for that.
It's 15 years since we had a pair of kittens, and I cant remember them being like this!
Ours had 450g wet at that age over 4 meals.
I might move them back to 4 meals then and see how that goes
