Cat completely gone this time

some of you will remember that my rescue cat started to display odd behaviour and going out and not wanting to come home once I became pregnant. We got her back a couple weeks before I gave birth at the end of August. She was very loving and almost guarded me once back, however, once baby was born she was desperate to go outside. We let her out and not only has she not come back again but we haven't seen her at all. We knew before I gave birth that she was still around the street and she would bug the neighbours and their cats. This time no one has seen her and neither have we. I hope she isn't dead but truth is she's probably gone further this time and permanently moved away because of the baby right? I've tried all the tricks to get her back like litter in garden etc. I'm moving house soon and don't want to be that owner who moves out without their pet but realistically what can I do? She is microchipped so if handed in someone will call me. She also has a collar and a tag with my phone number on it.

The only thing I can suggest is to keep looking and to update the micro chip with your new details. Also ask the new owner to keep
An eye out.

I would post on your local area/neighbouring area social media pages with some good quality photos and ask for any sightings. As people to send you a photo if they think they have seen her so you can rule out false sightings (you'd be surprised how many people can't tell cats apart even with very obvious markings!). I have seen lots of cats reunited in my area this way.

Have you put leaflets through local doors asking people to check their sheds/garages? She may 'visit' someone in the area and they don't know she is missing.

I would never abandon her so even if we moved I'd make sure I tried to find her first and if I couldn't I'd always get her if someone called me saying they had found her. She's been seen by a neighbour so she's still hanging around the area but refusing to come home. She's clearly very miserable here. Do I leave her to it or try to capture and rehome as she's miserable at home clearly :(

Would one of the neighbours be willing to take her in? Yes, no point in her being miserable at yours but the bad weather will be coming soon, so she needs a home found ASAP.

If you get her in she may acclimatise to the baby? Our cat really hated the crying initially but he did adjust and used to snuggle up on my lap sitting right next to the baby on my shoulder in the end
