Girl cat keeps on sicking up fur balls. She has very short fur so I've never brushed her, but am thinking it might help. Any recommendations for a decent brush (if she'll let me near her to do ithmmgrin)

A zoom groom, is brilliant for short hairs. My girl isn't massively keen on being brushed, but loves that. And she also likes a slicker brush. I have also used my long haired girls tangle teaser on her and she likes that.

I bought one of those glove brush things and seem to have cured the hairballs in my house, they get so much hair off!

I’ve got a short hair cat who used to bring up fur balls. He never tolerated being brushed but loves being stroked so I tried one of the gloves with rubber prong things on it which he also hated 🙄. He hasn’t brought one up for a while but has started coughing a lot more recently. The vet thought he could be bringing up a hair ball and swallowing it again so suggested switching to a special hair ball food and recommended IAMS hair ball ( which I got from amazon) but said there were lots of others on the market. It may be worth trying if she isn’t already on anti hair ball feed. I’m currently mixing it 50/50 with his usual dry food, as I’ve got so much of his usual stuff, and have had no complaints from him so far- it’s to early to tell if it’s having the desired effect though.....

That's interesting I didn't know you could even get anti furball food! Thanks I'll try the brushing and see if she'll tolerate it but if not I will look into the food. Thanks.

Zoom groom is really good

Long hair cat doesn't seem to like the zoom groom as much as the short hair cat.
I am going to pets at home today to buy a pet tangle teezer which is promoted for dogs but some cat people have left reviews so I am going to give it a try and see what he thinks!!
