Open a different door for them to go out when they have a perfectly good always open cat flap.

Currently not living with a cat but in the past I have -
Left bedroom window open at night as one loved to come in and out that way rather than just use their door.
Bought house on basis it had to be safe - didn’t even consider lovely houses which might have been ok.
Rearranged whole bedroom for elderly cat to accommodate his love of lying on chest of drawers in the sun at a time of day.
Put up with nightly frog newt ‘presents’for some time rather than mock one in at night (a real roamer) - majority caught uninjured and rehomed in London he had no access to.
Did not go on much needed holiday when house sitter let me down due to her family emergency.
Always took time from work and vet to the house when the awful time came. Held in arms always.
Ie pretty much whatever needed if it was possible. Fully prioritised them where possible. Still had a full life of my own - they were glorious addition.

I do everything for my cat, she's 19. Wipe her bum, clean her toilet twice a day, put blankets in her favourite cupboard (she likes to hid in them) only buy the best food. Open all the doors for her, carry her up and down stairs because she has arthritis.
She is like a princess. I don't want her to die and then feel guilty that I didn't do enough for her. She is my biggest love.

I let him put his bum in my face Grin
He also gets to share my pillow even if it means I get a less restful sleep!
I deliberately leave cupboards open so the he can explore...there's not much I wouldn't do for him, I'm besotted 😻

I also go out the room for deodorant as my big lump is scared of it 😁 they get doors opened despite the cat flap, interrupt our work to be stroked whilst they're eating, share pillows even when they've been out in the rain etc.
At this very minute, I should be shredding paperwork but big boy is snuggled asleep in his dog bed, and I can't bear to disturb him!

I won't strip the beds if the cats are lying on them. I'll wait until they get up for lunch.

Put clean bed linen on if they are asleep on the ‘naked’ duvet/bed.
Let them walk on the table.
Let them eat my eyebrows.
Let the kittens lick my bare feet.
Hand feed them when they are too lazy to go to the bowl but demand food.
Sleep on the edge of the double bed so as to not disturb the royal prince of darkness.

I go into another room to do my hair because the hairdryer scares them.
Sweep instead of Hoover if they are sleeping.

Dh used to stop playing his guitar if ours complained about the noise. I’d have to be ill before he did that for me.

One thing that has surprised me is i never get angry if they wake me up in the middle of the night. They seem to have a funny hour around midnight or later and 99% of the time they wake me up, but i just laugh it off and go back to sleep. However, if OH did that to me i'd be fuming 😂

My old girl used to have chilled bottled water in her bowl, with ice cubes added in the summer months. She would refuse tap water, such a catflake 🙀

I have also spent many an evening pinned to the sofa, unable to reach the remote control. I once watched a triple bill of Pimp My Ride on MTV as I didn't want to disturb a snoozing kitty.

Record nature programmes with small animals so she has something interesting to watch.

Sing a selection of special songs with lyrics adjusted to always include her name and how fluffy she is.

Wash her special blankets in Fairy non-bio and iron the one with trains on it.

Not complain when he shreds my decolletage with his razor sharp claws. He's just being friendly, even though I'm dripping blood.

Sit on the sofa bursting for the toilet but don't get up as the cats are happy on my lap and I couldn't possibly disturb them!

Mines 21 and has become somewhat of a baby. O do literally everything for her ha. She isn't allowed in the garden on her own and has a new refusal to use her tray so will only go out there. Most nights I'm howled at to sit out there with her till she goes.

She won't eat alone so I sit telling her how delicious her food looks.

The min she demand attention the victim of her demands has to drop whatever there doijng to lie down for her to sit as close to their face as possible.

She has us wrapped around her little finger. But I love the bones off her dont thibk there's much I wouldn't do.

Cleaning away their eye bogies, getting the occasional poo out of their bum hair (especially when kittens, especially the fluffy one). Hoovering around their naps.

  1. Won’t consider buying a house on a main road
  2. Don’t vacuum when they are asleep
  3. Don’t make the communal beds, when they are sleeping on them
  4. Clear up their vomit - DH had to clear up after the DC, as I couldn’t
  5. Don’t get cross when they deliberately knock the Wedgwood my grandmother gave me, onto the floor and break it
  6. Ask them nicely not to wake me up by giving my nose a nip at 5 am
  7. Ask them nicely not to wake me up by dribbling into my mouth at 5 am, while they peer lovingly into my eyes (shut, until shocked by nip on the nose or them pawing at my mouth as a hint to talk)
  8. Let one of them drink from the running tap every time I go in the bathroom, despite being concerned at what too much water extraction does to wildlife in the summer

@EachandEveryone

Im just getting ready for work and realised I go out of the room to spray my deodorant so I dont make them jump 😯

When I first got Ashycat, she used to run when I sprayed deode on (me, not her). I finally realised she thought I was hissing at her. So I made lots of fuss, kisses and cuddles, sprayed and more cuddles. She must have thought there was another cat somewhere in the room that I was pissed off at and got used to it.
